Cliftonville manager Tommy Breslin says home wins will come

Cliftonville manager Tommy Breslin is confident home wins will come in due course as his side seek their first league win of the season at Solitude.

The Reds lie second in the Premiership table thanks to three away wins and three drawn games at their own ground.

"We haven't won at home yet but we'll work away at it and just have to take our goalscoring opportunities when they come along," said Breslin.

"We're still finding our feet and it won't play on our mind," he added.

The champions dominated the first half of Tuesday's 0-0 Premiership draw with Linfield, but the Blues, who lost all four league matches between the sides last season, came into the game more after the break.

"The players are disappointed as we put in a lot of effort and carved out four or five good chances during the first half, in which we were outstanding," commented Breslin.

"We didn't take our chances while we were on top and stuttered and stammered a bit in the second half and never really got any fluidity into our game.

"Both sides had a few chances and overall we defended well."

Breslin's opposite number Warren Feeney thought his side could have "nicked it in the second half" but acknowledged that "a point was probably a fair result in the end".

"We were superb in defence and to come away from the champions' home ground and keep another clean sheet represents a continuation of a fantastic start for us.

"We've played all five games away from home and we have a new team with new players, who are still gelling, so the boys deserve a big pat on the back for the start we have made.

"The players are a joy to work with - they have a good attitude towards training and the players who aren't playing don't sulk - we will only get better."
