Yeovil Town 1-1 Crewe Alexandra

Yeovil are still searching for their first home win of the season after League One's bottom side Crewe Alexandra earned a point at Huish Park.

Joe Edwards tested Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt from distance on the half hour.

The visitors then opened the scoring on 62 minutes, Yeovil's debutant keeper Jake Kean parrying a Vadaine Oliver shot into the path of Billy Waters.

But substitute Kieffer Moore rescued a draw for Yeovil with a header from Nathan Smith's left-wing cross.

After losing their first five matches, Crewe have now picked up four points from their last two, to climb within two points of Port Vale, in 23rd.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:

"Once again we've got a disappointing draw at home. We didn't do enough for the first hour.

"We probably had more chances than them but the keeper made a couple of good saves.

"It took us to go 1-0 down, from a mistake from someone who doesn't usually make mistakes, for us to look lively.

"We couldn't get that winner. We hit the post and few chances went abegging."

Crewe manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke:

"Hopefully these last two results will be the start of something. It will give the players more confidence after a difficult start.

"Wave been handed a difficult start to the season, playing sides that have been promoted or relegated from the Championship. It's not been easy.

"It was always going to be a tough trip here after the derby game and we did not know how much that had taken out of them.

"We just needed a bit of luck to go our way. The ball bounced in our favour a bit against the Vale and hopefully that will prove to be a turning point."
