Partick Thistle: Boss Alan Archibald craves consistency

Manager Alan Archibald wants his Partick Thistle side to show more consistency after seeing them end Inverness Caley Thistle's unbeaten league run.

The Maryhill men came back from a goal down to win 3-1.

"Once we got the goal, there was a freedom about us and it was much better," Archibald told BBC Scotland.

"They showed good character to come back. We need to take it into the next game and hopefully show consistency."

Caley Thistle were top of the Premiership pile going into Saturday's match, with Partick chasing only their second win of the campaign.

And it was the Highlanders who took the lead through Aaron Doran.

Steven Lawless squared it with a fine strike and Abdul Osman nodded Partick's second.

Kallum Higginbotham made it 3-1 after the break and the home side could even afford a penalty miss from Kris Doolan late in the game.

"First 20 minutes, we were a wee bit nervous and tentative," Archibald added. "But, after that, we played some good football and we deserved to win in the end.

"We scored two fantastic goals.

"We brought Abs [Osman] in to do a job, but he's not just there to sit and break things up, we want to get him on the ball and start moves off as well.

"I thought he did that today, we had a game-plan and it worked.

"I think that will be Kris Doolan off penalties - I hear Higginbotham was supposed to be on them, so Kris will be at the bottom of the queue now.

"I let them decide between themselves, unless I have to step in."
