Tranmere Rovers: Ben Davies joins from Preston on loan

After a successful loan spell at York City last year, Ben Davies has made six starts at Preston this season

League Two side Tranmere Rovers have signed Ben Davies from Preston North End on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old left-back joins Rovers after injuries to Matt Hill, Liam Ridehalgh and Danny Woodards.

Davies spent last season in League Two on loan at York City, where he made 47 appearances, and has also featured six times for Preston this term.

"Any team at this level that loses three left-backs would need to bring in extra cover," said manager Rob Edwards.

"He's only young but he's played a lot of football at this level and in the division above and is an accomplished defender."
