Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey joins Colchester on loan

Healey scored 15 goals at Under-21 level for Cardiff in 2013-14

Colchester United have signed Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey on loan, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Bluebirds from Welsh Premiership side Gap Connah's Quay in 2013, will remain with the U's until 20 December.

Healey's only first-team appearance for Cardiff came in the Premier League against Chelsea last season

"I can't wait to get going, get some experience under my belt and show my ability," he told the club website.

"I am really enjoying my time at Cardiff and still have two more years there yet, but this is a good chance for me to get out and play first-team football and help Colchester."
