Rotherham United ended a five-match run without a Championship win with a comfortable victory over Blackburn.

Kari Arnason tucked home a loose ball to put the Millers in front before Luciano Becchio doubled their lead.

Visiting goalkeeper Jason Steele's clearance clattered into the legs of the Argentine, who is on loan from Norwich, and bounced into the net.

Shane Duffy had a header cleared off the line for Blackburn, who have won one of their past four league games.

While Rovers drop to 11th in the table, Rotherham climb two places to 17th with their third league win of the season.

Iceland international Arnason, who had not scored since March 2011, took advantage of Blackburn's failure to clear a corner to calmly stroke home in the fifth minute.

Becchio doubled the lead in fortuitous fashion, with the striker facing away from goal when Steele's clearance struck him and bounced into the net.

Ben Pringle then cleared Duffy's header off the line while the hosts' Anthony Wordsworth failed to make the most of a free header.

Rotherham boss Steve Evans:

"We are still adjusting to a fantastic league, we have beaten the former Premier League champions, it matches any good result we have ever had here.

"The first half was special, it was a shame it couldn't have ended at half-time because it was that good.

"When you beat a team of the stature of Blackburn Rovers you have to be proud.

"We knew a win was around the corner and the corner has come and now we prepare for a trip to the league leaders Norwich."

Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer:

"We gifted the opposition two goals and you can't do that.

"We can't keep giving teams head starts. Jordan Rhodes missed from two yards.

"We could still be out there now and it didn't drop for us and it dropped for them. That's the game summed up."
