Partick Thistle recruit defender Frederic Frans

Frederic Frans has been capped by Belgium at U18, U19 and U20 level

Partick Thistle have signed Belgian central defender Frederic Frans on a short-term contract.

The 25-year-old former Lierse player, capped at Under-20 level, has agreed a deal until January.

"It gives us some extra strength and depth in an area where we were probably still a bit light," manager Alan Archibald told the club website.

"He has experience playing in Belgium's top flight so clearly comes with a bit of pedigree."

Frans, who spent 10 days training with the Glasgow side, could feature in Saturday's squad for the trip to Dundee United.
