The majority of Hooper's football this season has come with the under-21s

Norwich City striker Gary Hooper is ready to make his first Championship contribution of the season after a calf injury, says boss Neil Adams.

The 26-year-old's only competitive action this term has come in a 60-minute appearance in the League Cup.

And last season's top scorer is expected to be in the squad for Saturday's trip to Fulham.

"I feel he is now at the level he wasn't at when he came back from his injury," Adams told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"Gary has had three or four development games. He's trained well and is back in with us."

Hooper was cleared to play four weeks ago, when he featured in the 1-0 loss to Shrewsbury.

But he has yet to feature since then, after telling his manager he was still lacking match fitness.

The Canaries were scoring freely earlier this season, but have been restricted to just one goal in their last two games, despite making plenty of chances.

"Maybe having a Gary Hooper on the bench for those games would have been the right thing, because he's a finisher," Adams said.
