Cameron Jerome has scored nine goals in 11 games for Norwich this season

Cameron Jerome scored twice as Norwich beat Bolton at Carrow Road to claim their first win in six games and move third in the Championship.

The striker gave the hosts the lead when he nodded Martin Olsson's ball down to Jonny Howson before collecting the return pass and slotting home.

Jerome doubled the lead after the break with a header from a corner.

Lee Chung-yong netted with a late low shot for Bolton, who remain in the bottom three.

Neil Lennon's side are still two points adrift of Brighton, who have a game in hand at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Bolton struggled to assert themselves against a Norwich side dangerous in the final third, with Nathan Redmond causing problems down the flanks and Jerome a physical threat up front.

The Canaries had already gone close through Alex Tettey's bustling run and shot when they took the lead after 12 minutes through Jerome's low strike.

Redmond had an effort turned onto the post by Andy Lonergan before Jerome netted with a towering header from Gary O'Neil's corner.

Bolton's Max Clayton shot wide when clean through and, although Lee clipped the ball past John Ruddy with four minutes left, the visitors could not force an equaliser.
