Euro 2016: Wales' Andy King disappointed to miss two qualifiers

Leicester midfielder Andy King says he is disappointed he is unlikely to play for Wales again until next summer due to his two-match Euro 2016 ban.

King will miss Wales' qualifiers in Belgium and Israel after Uefa increased his suspension for violent conduct.

The 25-year-old was sent off for a foul on Constantinos Makridis in Wales' 2-1 win against Cyprus earlier this month.

"It's really disappointing," said King, who misses the games in Brussels on 16 November and Israel on 28 March, 2015.

"I thought it was a harsh sending off, that's been widespread.

"But I've been lucky to get it down from three games to two [because] we've had to appeal.

"I probably won't play for Wales now until June."

King's dismissal came during a game in which nine players were booked by German referee Manuel Graf, including five Cypriots.

David Cotterill and Hal Robson-Kanu gave Wales an early 2-0 lead but a goal from Vincent Laban and King's red card set up a nervous second half.

Chris Coleman's side are unbeaten after three games and are top of Euro 2016 qualifying Group B.

"It's really disappointing for me, to be playing and playing well in all the qualifiers in the group so far [and now] to have to sit out two games.

"But I'll get my head on, play well for Leicester and we'll see what happens."

Wales' next home qualifier is against group favourites Belgium on 12 June, 2015 at Cardiff City Stadium.
