Neil Lennon: Bolton Wanderers 'breathtaking' in Cardiff win

Lennon has won both home games so far since taking over from Dougie Freedman

Bolton manager Neil Lennon praised his side's "breathtaking" performance as they comfortably beat Cardiff.

Wanderers midfielder Liam Feeney scored his first two goals for the club and captain for the night Matt Mills scuffed in a cross for a 3-0 victory.

After one win in their first 11 league games, Bolton have won three of their five Championship matches since ex-Celtic boss Lennon, 43, became manager.

"Our quality of football at times going forward was breathtaking," he said.

"We matched Cardiff all over the park. It was an outstanding team performance. It would be difficult to pick out individuals because they all played, more or less, at the top of their game."

Despite the three points, Wanderers still remain in the relegation places but are now just one point from safety.

Lennon brought in midfielder Josh Vela and striker Craig Davies for the the game, leaving out captain Jay Spearing and last season's top scorer Jermaine Beckford, and was pleased with their impact.

"I'm delighted with both of them," Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester. "Craig led the line fantastically. His quality on the ball is improving all the time and he wants to get better.

"We think Josh is a good footballer and he just got the nod over Oscar Threlkeld in terms of maturity.

"The standard is that. I'm not expecting to play as well as that every week, but I'm not expecting us to play as disappointingly as we did against Norwich.

"I want us to find some consistency, but that was really the reaction I was looking for."
