Yeovil Town 0-1 Fleetwood Town

  • Published

Fleetwood Town earned a win over Yeovil thanks to a solitary Jeff Hughes goal and as a result the Glovers dropped to the bottom of League One.

Keeper Chris Maxwell kept the Cod Army in it when he denied Jordy Hiwula's strike for Yeovil early on.

James Berrett's curled shot almost sealed a win for the hosts late on but Maxwell denied Yeovil once again.

And Graham Alexander's men notched the winner when Steven Schumacher's corner was coolly headed home by Hughes.

Gary Johnson: Yeovil Town manager on Fleetwood loss

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:

"Obviously we've got to start looking now since we've gone bottom of the league, that we cannot afford to leave it any later now.

"We've got to get those goals that we've created and hopefully you've said in your commentary that we had enough chances. I thought we played some good football.

"I think we were solid and then we switched off."
