Pochettino calls for 'mentality change'

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he does not feel under pressure despite a 2-1 defeat by Stoke sending Spurs to their third loss in four league games.

Pochettino's side have lost four of their six Premier League home games this season and lie 12th in the table.

Asked if he was starting to feel the pressure, Pochettino said: "No, but when you lose you are always unhappy.

"We need to find a solution very quickly. This is my challenge in the next few weeks."

Spurs gave a first Premier League start of the campaign to striker Harry Kane, who has scored nine goals this season, and he forced a good save out of Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with a header.

Former Ipswich and Crystal Palace striker James Scowcroft on BBC Radio London:

If I was a Spurs fan I would be exceptionally worried. There were no leaders at all for Tottenham. Watching that was almost like watching a relegation-threatened side. If Chelsea were to come here on that performance, you'd expect them to score five or six."

However, when Bojan drove through midfield to score, the Potters took control and added a second when Jon Walters stabbed in.

Nacer Chadli halved the deficit late on, but Tottenham rarely looked like threatening for an equaliser.

"It is clear from the result we need to improve a lot and improve quickly," added former Southampton boss Potchettino.

"When we conceded we started to make rash decisions and felt uncomfortable on the pitch.

"We made some mistakes that are not possible in the Premier League. We were no good in the first half, we tried to fix things in the second half, but at 2-0 down it is difficult.

"You never have a long time in football. We need to change mentality."
