Championship strugglers Blackpool have been fined £30,000 for fielding an ineligible player against Millwall.

An independent football disciplinary commission ruled that defender Donervon Daniels was not eligible to play as his 28-day youth loan had expired.

Daniels, 20, played the full game on 30 August as the Lions won 2-1, but half of the fine has been suspended.

"The process and outcome is one that we feel is fair," said Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston.

"We'd now like to draw a line under this matter and focus on the rest of the season."

Daniels moved to Bloomfield Road at the start of the season from Premier League side West Brom, and the Montserrat-born centre-half has made 17 appearances so far, after his deal was extended.

Blackpool were also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing and those of the Football League.
