Accrington Stanley 1-1 Yeovil Town

A late fightback meant that Accrington Stanley earned a draw and were rewarded with an FA Cup second-round replay at League One strugglers Yeovil Town.

Yeovil took the lead against the run of play when Jordan Clarke converted from close range from Sam Foley's free-kick.

Tom Aldred levelled for Stanley after the restart when he latched onto Rob Atkinson's delivery and slotted home.

Shay McCartan almost put the hosts through to the third round late on but his powerful header hit the post.

This was the first time the two sides had faced each other in a competitive match and they will meet again for a replay on Tuesday, 16 December.

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:

Gary Johnson: Yeovil Town manager on Accrington FA Cup draw

"I thought the second half was a really poor performance and effort; it was probably one of the poorest performances in the cup maybe at this round.

"All credit to them, they shut us down, they worked hard, they played some decent football in the final third. Our goalkeeper had to pull off saves, we had to throw ourselves in front of things, we had a couple of opportunities ourselves.

"It was a good thing that the first half, with the game probably being a bit more even than the second half, that they had their chances and we took our one chance, the set-play.

"So the lads know we're disappointed, they're disappointed, really disappointed. You don't want to say we're still in the cup and make that too big of a positive, but we are and we have got to make sure we are ready when they come back to Huish Park."
