Spartans have already defeated SPFL sides Clyde and Morton at Ainslie Park this season

Scottish Cup shock troops Spartans are dreaming of a home tie and further progress for the Lowland League club.

The Edinburgh side earned their place in Monday's fifth-round draw after defeating League One leaders Greenock Morton 2-1 on Saturday.

Director David Bryce told BBC Scotland: "The players are looking at Rangers, Celtic, Hibs, maybe a Premiership team.

"I would just be happy with a home draw and let teams come down to Ainslie Park - we are doing quite well down there."

Morton were the second Scottish Professional Football League side to be knocked out by Spartans this season, with League Two side Clyde losing in Edinburgh in the previous round.

Top-flight outfit St Mirren accounted for Spartans the last time they reached the last 16, after a replay in 2006.

But Bryce admits that some at the club are dreaming of a long cup run.

"I think some of the players are just getting home now after the celebrations," he said. "It was an absolutely fantastic day.

"But we are realistic about it and we know that to beat Clyde and Morton was a huge achievement.

"Who knows what's going to happen next? I think some of the guys were saying 'three games to Europe', but I'm not sure about that.

"It depends on who we get, but we've just got to believe in ourselves and I think there's a lot of belief around the club."

The Lowland League was set up by the Scottish Football Association to become a future feeder division to the SPFL.

"We're a very forward thinking club and I think we've showed that the Lowland League can close the gap with the divisions above," said Bryce, whose side sit second in the table, 10 points adrift of Edinburgh City.

"We've got a great management team and some great players at the club.

"Morton were very tough. They came out in the first half and played very well against us.

"I don't know what the manager said to the guys at half-time, but certainly they came out with a lot of heart and a lot of determination and they deserved their win."
