Watford: Slavisa Jokanovic accepts pressure after four defeats

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic admits he is feeling the weight of four straight defeats, but believes his side are capable of responding.

The Hornets fell from first in the table to seventh during November after a poor run of form.

"I have been in football all my life and I must live with this pressure," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"The situation is not good for us and the pressure is bigger. I expect us to have a reaction."

Jokanovic is Watford's fourth different manager this season, with Beppe Sannino, Oscar Garcia and Billy McKinlay all having short-lived spells in charge.

Sannino quit in late August amid growing tensions with players, while Garcia stepped down for health reasons.

McKinlay, after a change of heart by owner Gino Pozzo, lasted just eight days at the helm and was replaced by former Chelsea midfielder Jokanovic, who took eight points in his first four games in charge but has lost the subsequent four matches.

"My team is not in a nice situation. We have five months to go and nothing is over now," said the 46-year-old, whose side travel to Fulham on Friday.

"A few games ago the press asked me about promotion. It's not the moment for being in that position at the beginning of December.

"There are so many points that we must fight for."

There were boos from a collection of supporters at Vicarage Road at the end of last week's 1-0 defeat by Cardiff, something Jokanovic says is understandable.

"The supporters paid to watch the game. After four bad results it is a normal reaction," he said.

"They supported us for all the match and at the end were unhappy with the situation. If I was in the stand my reaction would probably be similar."
