Reda Johnson scored his fifth goal of the season as Coventry City won at Port Vale.

Both sides had chances in an open first half as Adam Barton went close for the visitors, while Ryan Allsop kept out a header from Vale defender Chris Robertson.

The hosts controlled matters after the break, but Coventry struck against the run of play, as Johnson headed home.

Gary Madine then wrapped up victory in stoppage time with a low drive.

Sky Blues manager Steven Pressley told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire:

"It was a very professional away performance. We gave up very few chances. It's another clean sheet which is something that pleases me greatly, as clean sheets breed confidence.

"But I felt again that, if our final pass had been better, we could have scored more goals.

"I'm really pleased with the result but there are still aspects of our play that we can improve on."
