Mansfield Town 0-1 Cambridge United

Sullay Kaikai scored the only goal as Cambridge United beat Mansfield to book a third-round visit of Luton Town.

Following a 2-2 draw last week, Kaikai had the U's in front early on in the replay when his 20-yard effort took a wicked deflection past Sascha Studer.

Vadaine Oliver and Ollie Palmer had chances to level before Studer had to save from Kwesi Appiah.

Luke Waterfall thought he had hooked in a dramatic late equaliser, but it was ruled out for offside.

The U's will now host the Hatters on Saturday, 3 January, in what will be their ninth meeting in the past three years.

Mansfield Town manager Adam Murray told BBC Radio Nottingham:

"It's disappointing because we had enough chances in the game to score. We can't moan about the goal that was ruled out because we should have scored.

"We are lacking that X-factor in front of goal. We should have had four in the first half and another three in the second.

"The scary thing is, though, we could have conceded 10. People need to take more responsibility defensively."
