Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has been given a one-game touchline ban and fined £2,000 after admitting a Football Association charge of improper conduct.

The Spaniard, 41, was sent off by referee Mark Clattenburg after Rudy Gestede's injury-time equaliser in November's home draw with Blackburn.

Karanka currently has no assistant coach after Craig Hignett's departure.

Boro host Championship leaders Derby County, who sit three places and two points above them, on Saturday.
