Will Grigg scored twice as MK Dons thrashed Oldham Athletic 7-0 to move up to second in the League One table.
Grigg fired home the opener from inside the box after a Dele Alli lay off, with Dean Bowditch's tap in making it 2-0.
Grigg smashed in his second of the game before Darren Potter curled in his first goal of the season.
Alli curled the ball past a despairing Paddy Kenny then Benik Afobe added a sixth before Carl Baker completed the victory with a long-range effort.
Karl Robinson's Dons are now just one point adrift of league leaders Bristol City, but are only in the automatic promotion places ahead of Swindon Town and Preston North End on goal difference.
MK Dons Manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I think we were sensational. We missed a lot of chances in the first half, but we were ruthless. To be in the form we're in at the moment I think it's a sensational ask of the players.
"I said before the game that I knew we'd win today. The way they've trained this week has been incredible. Darren Potter doesn't get enough goals with the quality that he possesses and Baker is chipping in with his usual one.
"That wasn't against a team that are bottom of the league. They had a blip last week, that was only supposed to be short lived. We had a game plan. If we can go on the front foot and play in their half we would dominate the game.
"We're not nicking games one nil, we're convincingly dominating games. We knew today would be a massive challenge. I'm so happy for our fans, I'm sure their Christmas will be a lot happier."
