Irish Premiership: Institute 1-2 Ballymena Utd
- Published
Ballymena secured their first away win for three months by beating Institute.
The hosts took an early lead courtesy of Robbie Hume's fourth-minute deflected shot but Davy Munster stabbed the ball home from six yards out on 24.
Alan Teggart drilled home a low penalty on the half hour after Keith Kennedy controversially ruled that defender Johnny Taylor had been fouled by Paddy McLaughlin in an off-the-ball incident.
It was only Ballymena's second win in 13 league matches.
Hume's opener gave Institute an early boost but 'Stute goalkeeper Marty Gallagher was soon called upon to deny Darren Boyce and Munster, while McLaughlin headed another Boyce effort off the line.
Munster levelled from close range after Neal Gawley's corner was not dealt with by Gallagher.
Teggart's penalty sent the Sky Blues in ahead at the break and they almost extended their lead in the second half when Gawley blazed over from the edge of the box and substitute goalkeeper Eugene Ferry denied Allan Jenkins.
