Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford's loan at Middlesbrough has been extended for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old moved to the Riverside at the end of August and has scored eight times in 19 appearances for Boro, who are fourth in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Boro goalkeeper Jason Steele has joined Championship rivals Blackburn on a permanent deal.

Steele, 24, is on a season-long loan with Rovers and has now agreed terms on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Bamford signed for Chelsea on a five-year deal in January 2012 but is yet to play for the first team, having previously had loan spells at MK Dons and Derby.

"He loves to be here, we love him here, the squad wants him here and the crowd loves him," said Boro boss Aitor Karanka.
