Stephen Hendrie relaxed about move from Hamilton Accies

Stephen Hendrie has made 25-30 appearances each season since breaking into the first team

Hamilton Accies left-back Stephen Hendrie trusts the club will not stand in his way if they receive the right offer for him in the transfer window.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and there has been reported interest from Celtic, Swansea City and West Ham United.

Hendrie is a Celtic fan but also says a move to a division like England's Premier League would be "brilliant".

"It's good massive clubs are getting mentioned," he told BBC Scotland.

"But I just want to get my head down and keep doing well. I just want to get on with my game. Whatever happens, happens.

"Just now, the Accies are flying and I'm loving every minute of it and we just want to finish as high as we can."

The Scotland Under-21 international has made more than 100 appearances for the Lanarkshire side since making the breakthrough at the start of the 2011-12 season.

It is the sort of steady progress that characterised James McArthur's time at the club before he moved to Wigan Athletic.

Hendrie praises the coaches at Hamilton and lists McArthur, James McCarthy, Michael Devlin, Eamonn Brophy and Ali Crawford as proof of their record in developing players.

While he is enjoying competing at the top end of the Scottish Premiership, he admits it would be hard to turn down a move should there be an offer for him this month.

"I'm 20 next week," he said. "I don't think it's too young or too old to move from Hamilton.

"The Accies would need to look to see if it's the right offer. If it is and they accept it, they say they'll never stand in anybody's way.

"They are a great club like that. If they accepted it, there is not much I could do.

"I'm a Celtic fan and obviously the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world. That's my dream - you want to reach as high a level as you can and if I can get to the Premier League that would be brilliant."

His manager at Accies, Alex Neil, is open to offers for the player, but only if they represent good value.

Neil told BBC Scotland: "We want to keep Stephen unless someone comes in with a bid that's good for the club and Stephen to go and further himself.

"We would never stand in anyone's way, but we won't let people leave on the cheap either.

"If Stephen moves on, I've got someone ready to come in and take the place."
