Andre Schurrle: Phenomenal bid needed to sell - Mourinho

Andre Schurrle has played 14 games and scored three goals in the Premier League for Chelsea this season

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says it would take a "phenomenal" offer to sell Germany World Cup winner Andre Schurrle in the January transfer window.

He also played down stories linking the Blues with Fiorentina's Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.

"We don't want to be involved in the transfer window," Mourinho said.

"If we have to be it's because somebody pushed us, with some offer for our player. But Chelsea moving and looking for a change? No."

Egypt midfielder Mohamed Salah, 22, is another player linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but Mourinho said he would be in the starting line-up to face Bradford City in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.

"Sometimes we have needs, like we had in the past transfer windows where we sold some players," he added.

"The reality is normally nothing should happen in the next two weeks and we should go to February with the same squad."

Winger Schurrle, 24, has been linked with Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and Mourinho said: "The principle is that we would like him to stay.

"The question is not to be allowed or not allowed. The question is to have a phenomenal offer and a player to be super keen of accepting a new challenge in his career."

Reports say a deal for Cuadrado, 26, is imminent but Mourinho said: "I shouldn't make any comments about players from other clubs. You speak about Cuadrado, you can speak about 10, 20 players.

"It's my job to know them all. I think he fits well in Fiorentina's squad and Colombia's squad, not in Chelsea's squad."
