St Mirren have confirmed that Gary Teale will be the club's manager until the end of the season.

The 36-year-old had previously been caretaker boss following the sacking of Tommy Craig in December.

Teale, who will be assisted by David Longwell, has won two of his nine matches in charge of the Buddies, who he joined as a player in 2011.

One of those victories was a crucial 2-1 win against the Scottish Premiership's bottom side Ross County.

The Paisley side's next match is on Friday night against Partick Thistle.

Meanwhile, the former Kilmarnock winger James Dayton has joined St Mirren on loan from League One side Oldham Athletic until the end of the season.

The addition of the 26-year-old follows that of striker Yoann Arquin, who arrived from fellow Scottish Premiership club Ross County.
