Preston North End 2-0 Scunthorpe United

Goals from Daniel Johnson and Paul Gallagher were enough to see off Scunthorpe and give Preston North End their third straight league win.

Gallagher cleared Paddy Madden's shot off the line after Lilywhites keeper Sam Johnstone flapped at a corner.

Callum Robinson pulled the ball back for Johnson to sweep in from six yards to give the home side the lead.

Preston's victory was secured when Chris Humphrey squared the ball for Gallagher to finish from close range.

Scunthorpe United manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Humberside:

Robins on Preston v Scunthorpe

"We weren't good enough today. In the first half we huffed and puffed, and I think there was nothing in the game.

"In fairness, I think in the second half there wasn't a great deal in it. We got bullied.

"There's a few black eyes in the dressing room, and that's not because I've thrown any punches after the game, that's because the striker has put himself about. "
