Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Middlesbrough winger Emmanuel Ledesma in an initial one-month loan deal.

The 26-year-old Argentine has only featured twice for Boro this season and had a loan spell at Rotherham earlier in the campaign.

"It's no secret that we were looking to strengthen in that area," Seagulls manager Chris Hughton said.

"He brings good Championship experience, and is a creative player who is also capable of scoring goals."

Ledesma had a trial at Brighton in 2011 after he was released by Italian side Genoa, but subsequently signed for Walsall.

He joined Middlesbrough on a three-year deal in August 2012 and has made 64 appearances for Boro, with 27 of them coming as a substitute.
