Charlton Athletic have signed former Burnley and Bolton winger Chris Eagles on a deal until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old former Manchester United trainee was a free agent after his short-term deal with Blackpool expired last month.

"I've had a great feeling about being here, it's a massive club," he said.

"I'm over the moon to be here and as soon as I knew Charlton wanted to sign me it didn't matter what they offered me. I just wanted to be here."

Eagles was released by Bolton last summer following a three-year spell with the Wanderers and joined Blackpool in November.

He made seven appearances for the Seasiders, scoring once in the 2-2 draw at Charlton in December.

Eagles, who has been training with the Addicks this week, is eligible to make his debut against Wigan on Friday.

"I am sure he will help us," Addicks head coach Guy Luzon said. "He is a player with quality and a good character."
