Watford midfielder Ben Watson has extended his contract beyond the end of the season until 2017.

There is also an option to add a further year to the 29-year-old's deal.

Watson joined the Hornets from Wigan in January for an undisclosed fee, and has since played nine times for the promotion-chasing club.

He scored the winning goal in the 2013 FA Cup final during six years at the Lancashire club and made 10 appearances this season before joining Watford.
