Jimmy Dack saw his Newport County side lose 2-1 at Stevenage.

Manager Jimmy Dack has targeted six wins from Newport County's final 11 games as they bid to reach the League Two play-offs.

Newport dropped out of the top seven following a 2-1 defeat at play-off rivals Stevenage.

Dack's side, who are two points off the final play-off spot, host Cheltenham Town at Rodney Parade on Friday evening.

"We've got 11 games and we've got to try and get six wins," Dack said.

"It's getting harder all the time but we've got to keep working hard and we're looking forward to Friday now.

"If we can get a win going and keep winning one in two then you're not going to be far off."

Stevenage moved above Newport with victory at the Lamex Stadium with goals from Charlie Lee and Bira Dembele.

Adam Chapman scored late on for Newport, who had Chris Zebroski sent off for a second yellow card in the final minute.

County have won only two of their last 10 games in League Two but remain in contention for the play-offs.

Dack, appointed County manager until the end of the season following Justin Edinburgh's departure to Gillingham, says home form will be crucial as they chase a play-off spot.

"We can't keep relying on our away form," Dack added.

"Coming away from home it's always tough to get points so we've got to start getting our home form right and it's takes pressure off us away from home."
