Rotherham missed the chance to ease their relegation fears after a Championship draw against fellow strugglers Fulham.

The Millers are just one place above the drop zone, but Millwall - five points behind - have a game in hand.

They took the lead after four minutes through Matt Derbyshire, who poked in from Ben Pringle's corner.

The home side, two points above their opponents, equalised as Ross McCormack bundled in his 16th goal of the season.

Rotherham were charged by the Football League on Monday for fielding defender Farrend Rawson earlier this month, with doubts over the status of his loan deal from Derby, and will find out their fate before the end of the season.

If they do have points deducted, they will find themselves deep in trouble at the wrong end of the table.

But the visitors at Craven Cottage missed a host of chances as they aim to preserve their status in the second tier of English football.

Goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli kept out Kirk Broadfoot's point-blank header and blocked Derbyshire when he was through on goal, after the former Blackburn and Olympiakos man has given his side the lead.

Fulham finally tested keeper Damian Martinez when Bryan Ruiz was denied by a good save, but levelled through ex-Leeds man McCormack, who netted from Scott Parker's touch.

Fulham boss Kit Symons:

"In the first half we were awful. In the second there was an improvement, and we were a bit better than awful.

"We were very nervous, it is an anxious time for the football club. But you have to deal with the situation and we didn't do that.

"There is still a bit to do, but we are limping closer. We'd liked to have sprinted over the line but it doesn't look like it's going to be like that."

Rotherham boss Steve Evans:

"Their goal came from a blatant Ross McCormack handball. If a Championship official can't see that then he shouldn't be in the Championship.

"If it is not handball then I've not got a pair of eyes. The referee is a good guy, he doesn't mean to make a howler like that, but the reality is it is a big match and he has made a howler.

"But it shouldn't have come down to that, it should have come down to us coming away with a handsome victory."
