Manager Nick Cushing says Manchester City have an "addiction" to winning silverware as they look to add to the Continental Cup they won last year.

City host Birmingham City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

"Winning that trophy has given us a real infectious, addictive feeling that we want more of," Cushing said.

"We know it's not easy but last year provided us with that experience of having to work unbelievably hard to gain that trophy."

Manchester City won the Continental Cup in their first year in the top flight of women's football, and Cushing admits that victory in that competition will make it harder to claim another title this season.

"We're used to having that target on our backs. It comes with being Manchester City," he continued.

"We're realistic that no one's going to give us any one of the trophies that are available this season.

"We're going to have to work even harder than we did last year, and on the day make sure we're the best team."

The two sides met in Women's Super League One on 29 March, with the match finishing 0-0.

Cushing insists he will not alter his tactics as he turns his attentions to the FA Cup and a last-eight tie against Birmingham, the 2012 winners.

"We play the same way we do every time we play. We want to dominate the ball, get the ball down and move it around the pitch," he added.

Manchester City will be without goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, and Birmingham without forward Freda Ayisi, after both players were given three-match bans for exchanging punches during their previous meeting.

The FA Women's Cup final will be held at Wembley for the first time, on Saturday, 1 August.
