Eddie Howe: Bournemouth boss will see job through - Redknapp
- Published
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will be in demand this summer but will not leave the Premier League-bound club, says former manager Harry Redknapp.
Howe, 37, has effectively secured the Cherries a place in the top flight for the first time in their history, and their second promotion in three years.
"Lots of big clubs looking at managers will have him top of their list," Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live.
"But I think he's a lad that will want to stay and see the job through."
He added: "He is Bournemouth through and through, I don't see him leaving the club."
Cherries' chairman Jeff Mostyn endorsed that view.
"Eddie is going nowhere. " Mostyn told Radio 5 live. "His ambition is to manage this club in the Premier League. We will be in the Premier League next year and Howe will be leading us in the first game."
Eddie Howe - Bournemouth legend
Howe, a former Bournemouth player, has guided his side from League Two to championship success across two different spells at the club.
He kept the Cherries in the Football League in his first season in charge before gaining promotion to League One in 2010.
He left for Burnley in January 2011, but returned to the south coast in October 2012 for personal reasons and achieved promotion to the Championship.
Bournemouth's 3-0 win over Bolton on Monday prompted mass celebrations at the Goldsands Stadium, with only a Middlesbrough win on the final day along with a 20-goal swing to deny them a place in the top flight next season.
'Breathtaking Bournemouth are fearless'
Former Tottenham and West Ham boss Redknapp played for the south-coast club in the 1970s and managed them between 1983 and 1992.
He believes the Cherries will make an impression in the Premier League next season, just seven years after almost going out of business amid a financial crisis.
"Eddie and his team will be a pleasure to watch next season," he said.
"They're young and don't play with any fear. They will get well beaten some weeks, but they will win their share of games as well.
"They will go at teams, their football is breathtaking. It's been an amazing story."
