David Dunn: Blackburn midfielder open to Accrington move

David Dunn has made just two starts for Blackburn this season

David Dunn would consider playing at League Two side Accrington Stanley when he leaves Blackburn this summer.

The 35-year-old announced his departure from the Championship club earlier this week, but intends to keep on playing.

The one-time England midfielder, who had a four-year spell at Birmingham, has not played for Blackburn since the FA Cup win over Swansea in January.

"I go and watch Accrington as much as I can - I would say they are probably my second team," Dunn said.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "So why not, if the opportunity arose and it was right with everybody?"

Accrington, who sit 17th in the fourth tier with one game remaining, have one of the lowest budgets in the Football League.

"I've got a decent relationship with (manager) John Coleman and (assistant manager) Jimmy Bell so if it happens it's something I'll look at," added Dunn.

"Whether it is this time or next time, I don't know - I've got to keep my options open and see what's the best thing, for not just myself but my family as well."
