Long-serving AFC Wimbledon midfielder Sammy Moore will leave the club at the end of his contract this summer while four other players are being released.

Moore, 27, joined the Dons in summer 2010 and scored 19 goals in 186 appearances for the club.

Dons boss Neal Ardley has decided not to offer new deals to keeper Ross Worner, defenders Mark Phillips and Jack Smith and midfielder Alfie Potter.

Striker Bayo Akinfenwa has been offered "new and improved" terms by Ardley.

Meanwhile the south-west London club have taken up an option to extend the contract of winger George Francomb and Ardley is in negotiations with left-back Callum Kennedy over a new contract.

"[Sammy and I] had a really good heart to heart about his future," Ardley told the club website., external

"We both feel that a fresh start is probably needed so that he can get back to enjoying his football again."
