Mansfield Town have signed Birmingham striker Matt Green and Walsall left-back Malvind Benning.

Green, 28, returns to the Stags two years after helping them win the Conference Premier title, scoring 25 goals in the process.

Injuries limited him to just a dozen appearances and two goals in his time at Championship club Birmingham.

Benning, 21, played for the Saddlers more than 50 times, but also had a spell on loan at York this season.

Both myself and the chairman have fought long and hard in order to beat off competition from League One and Championship clubs to capture the signature of Matt Green," boss Adam Murray told the club website., external

"It's a statement of our intent going into next season and it's great to have him back on board."

On Benning, he added: "He is a young attacking full-back that has good experience at Football League level and will bring good quality to our team."

The contract lengths for the pair have not been disclosed.
