Aaron O'Connor: Forest Green sign former Newport County striker

Aaron O'Connor scored 31 goals in all competitions for Newport County over three years

Forest Green Rovers have signed former Newport County striker Aaron O'Connor on a one-year contract.

The 31-year-old scored 11 goals in 42 appearances for the League Two club in 2014-15 but was released last month.

"This club is going in the right direction, with a good manager and a good chairman," O'Connor told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"They weren't a million miles away from promotion last year. Hopefully I can help them get over that last hurdle."

The former Mansfield and Luton man had been with Newport County since 2012.
