League Two runners-up Shrewsbury Town finished five points adrift of champions Burton Albion

Newly promoted Shrewsbury Town will host relegated Millwall on the opening weekend of the new League One season.

The other sides relegated from the Championship, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool, face trips to Coventry City and Colchester United respectively.

League Two champions Burton Albion are at home against Scunthorpe United, while play-off winners Southend travel to face Fleetwood Town.

The 2015-16 season gets under way on Saturday 8 August.

New Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins begins his spell with an away fixture against Gillingham.

Chesterfield, under the guidance of Dean Saunders following Paul Cook's exit, entertain Barnsley.

Crewe Alexandra, who narrowly stayed up on a tense final day of last season, start with a local derby at home to Port Vale.

There are no Football League or Premier League matches on New Year's Day, but a full fixture list is scheduled for 2 January.
