Carlisle have signed former Rochdale midfielder Bastien Hery on a one-year contract, with an option to extend.
The 23-year-old Frenchman made 42 appearances for Rochdale after joining them from Sheffield Wednesday.
He made headlines earlier this year after reportedly calling the Lancashire town a "dump" in a magazine interview.
Hery and the club claimed the interview had been mistranslated, but later went on a tour of the town and apologised for any confusion caused.
