Brazil midfielder Paulinho has joined China's Guangzhou Evergrande from Tottenham for £9.9m.

The 26-year-old, capped 32 times, joined Spurs in 2013 from Brazilian side Corinthians for nearly £17m and made 67 appearances for the club.

Paulinho played 27 times in the Premier League last season, but 12 of those appearances were as a substitute.

He has signed a four-year deal with the Chinese champions, who are managed by ex-Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Paulinho tweeted: , external"I'd like to thank Tottenham and all the supporters who welcomed me very well during those two years in England. I will always cheer for Spurs."

Scolari joined the club earlier this month, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Guangzhou are third in the league, two points behind leaders Beijing Guoan, as they attempt to win a fifth successive Super League title.
