Watford have signed Czech Republic striker Matej Vydra from Italian side Udinese on a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old has had two separate loan spells at Vicarage Road, and scored 16 times from 31 league starts during the Hornets' promotion-winning 2014-15 campaign from the Championship.

Vydra, who has four goals in 15 international games, moves from a club run by the Watford-owning Pozzo family.

Meanwhile, defender Gabriele Angella has signed a new five-year deal.

The 26-year-old former Italy Under-21 international has scored 10 goals in 81 games since moving from Udinese two years ago.

Vydra follows Sebastian Prodl and Giedrius Arlauskis in joining the Hornets this summer.

In between his two loan stints at Vicarage Road, Vydra spent the 2013-14 campaign in the Premier League with West Brom, scoring three goals from 25 appearances.
