Jon Stead: Notts County sign former Huddersfield striker

Jon Stead scored six goals in 33 league games for Bradford City last season

Notts County have signed striker Jon Stead on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old was released by Championship side Huddersfield Town at the end of last season.

Stead spent most of the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Bradford City, scoring in the FA Cup wins over Premier League sides Chelsea and Sunderland.

The former England Under-21 international could feature against the Terriers when the two teams meet in the League Cup first round on 11 August.
