Derry City's poor run continued on Friday as they failed to beat bottom club Limerick at the Brandywell.

Peter Hutton's men have not won for 11 league matches and are in danger of finding themselves involved in the promotion-relegation play-off.

Derry actually move out of the bottom two on goal difference, but know they could regret not beating a Limerick side without a win all season.

Stephen Dooley wasted Derry's best chance in the first half.

Mark Timlin delivered from the right and Dooley seemed certain to score only to mishit his shot which went wide.

Soon afterwards, Barry McNamee saw a shot well saved by Limerick goalkeeper Freddie Hall.

Near the end, Limerick claimed Sean Russell had been bundled over in the penalty area, but referee Paul Tuite turned down the appeals for a spot-kick.
