Jersey's women will face French side Union Sportive St Malo in a friendly at Springfield on 30 August.

It is the first time that Jersey, who won their first-ever Island Games gold medal earlier this month, have played against a French side.

St Malo currently play in the second tier of women's football in France.

"I would expect this to be equally as tough a challenge as the matches they played in at the Island Games," said Jersey FA's Iain MacKenzie.

It will be the second match for the island side since winning gold, as they host Godalming Town on 21 August.

St Malo's men's team, who play in France's fifth tier, beat Jersey's men 8-0 in January in the first game between the club and the island.

"It's a fantastic link and very close for us to go back and forth to St Malo," added MacKenzie. "It's something that we're looking to maintain that contact at all levels, from the academy to the senior teams."
