Liverpool's Joe Allen is likely to miss Wales' Euro 2016 qualifier with Israel after being ruled out for about a month with a hamstring injury.
The midfielder, 25, will miss the start of the Premier League season after suffering the injury in his club's friendly with Swindon Town on Sunday.
He is banned for a qualifier in Cyprus on 3 September, and is now set to miss the home Israel game three days later.
Allen has already missed two Euro 2016 qualifiers with injury.
Wales drew with Bosnia-Hercegovina and beat Cyprus at home in his absence in October.
Allen played in every minute of the last three games against Belgium (twice) and Israel, helping Wales to the top of Group B, three points clear of Belgium with four games remaining.
After facing Cyprus and Israel in September, Wales will end their campaign away to Bosnia (10 October) and at home to bottom side Andorra (13 October).
