Burton Albion 1-2 Middlesbrough (AET)
- Published
Christian Stuani scored a brace as Middlesbrough came from behind to beat League One side Burton in extra time.
The Championship club fell behind when George Friend turned Matthew Palmer's free-kick into his own goal.
Boro missed several chances to equalise before Uruguay striker Stuani put the visitors back on terms with his third goal for the club.
Burton held on to force extra time, but Stuani turned home Stewart Downing's cross to seal a well-deserved victory.
