Jamie McGonigle's double helped the Bannsiders to a comfortable Premiership win over Dungannon at Stangmore Park.

Rodney Brown put Coleraine ahead when his shot deflected off defender Dermot McCaffrey and into the Swifts net.

McCaffrey's mistake let in McGonigle to make it 2-0, with the striker steering the ball past keeper Andy Coleman.

Andrew Mitchell saw his header crash off the Bannsiders bar before McGonigle blasted in to seal a win which moves Oran Kearney's side up to fourth.

Brown broke the deadlock on 13 minutes with the final touch coming off the unfortunate McCaffrey.

McGonigle showed a poacher's instincts seven minutes later, nipping in to finish after a mix-up between McCaffrey and Coleman.

Dungannon were denied by the woodwork when Mitchell met a pinpoint cross from Dale Montgomery at the near-post.

Ruairi Harkin and James McLaughlin went close for Coleraine before the Swifts had penalty claims turned down after Aaron Canning's challenge on Cormac Burke.

Dungannon were caught out by a ball over the top with McGonigle racing through and firing between the legs of Coleman to complete his double.
