Reigning champions Juventus secured their first Serie A point of the season ahead of their Champions League group match at Manchester City on Tuesday.
Massimiliano Allegri's side fell behind at home to Chievo when Perparim Hetemaj fired the visitors into an early lead.
Juventus had to wait until seven minutes from the end to equalise, Paulo Dybala scoring a penalty after Juan Cuadrado was tripped by Bostjan Cesar.
Juve midfielder Paul Pogba started the match as a substitute.
The former Manchester United player came on at the start of the second-half.
Chievo, who finished 14th in the table last season, are joint top, with seven points from three games.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Roma also have seven points from three games after they won 2-0 at bottom club Frosinone thanks to goals from Iago Falque and Juan Iturbe.
Fiorentina, who had Milan Badelj sent off in the second half, overcame Genoa 1-0 after Khouma Babacar scored.
