A football manager in Bosnia has been sacked on Facebook.

Vladica Petrovic only realised he had lost his job when he checked the home page, external of FK Drina Zvornik.

The team, who are bottom of the Bosnian Premier League, shared a link to the announcement and Petrovic replied to the post with the comment "Thanks for letting me know," which has since gained thousands of 'likes'.

Petrovic had only been appointed in July and Drina won two of his 10 games in charge, losing eight.

He is the 10th manager to lose his job in the league this season.

"They really fired me via Facebook," Petrovic told Goal.com., external

"When I got to the profile, I saw their notice, so I thanked them for it, as more of a laugh. I did not know that my comments would get so many likes."
